Why Can't I Just Have a Normal Dog?

Yes, I feel like Charlie Brown. My dog is weird. First, he started doing this
as a young puppy. And still does. Some times in his sleep. Then, after we hung a bell from our doorknob so that he could signal when he needs to go out, he learned how to use the bell and then started ringing the bell because he liked the sound. Now he pretty much just rings it whenever he wants, such as 15 minutes after going outside. Also, he tends to like to roll over on his food. Okay, so this one seems to have some sort of doggy logic to it, like he's trying to mark the food with his scent or something, but it still looks weird. Especially when he does it over and over again. ThatWunWife once gave him some roast beef. Rather than eat it, he rolled over on it repeatedly and tossed it around the kitchen for about 45 minutes.
And then tonight he just started going crazy barking and howling at the window for no apparent reason. He even stood on his hind legs, a trick ThatWunWife has been trying hard to teach him, and stared out the window. The best I could figure out was that he didn't like the reflection of the computer screensaver. The barking was kind of annoying at first, but I actually had to laugh at him once he started trying to stand up to get a better look. Once he actually walked backwards trying to stand.
Of course, I don't really want a normal dog; then he wouldn't fit in with the family. And it would be boring. But he's still weird.
